Psychological Counselling for Adults
Our experienced therapists at Hope Psychology QLD are well-trained in various evidence based therapeutic approaches. You and your therapist can decide which approach would best suit you. In your counselling sessions, your therapist will gain a good understanding of your needs and concerns, support you to recognise your emotional and behavioural responses. and provide you with practical resources to help you work towards your mental wellness.
Our individual counselling sessions are 50-minute long and we also offer Telehealth sessions, which are online sessions conducted via video or phone conferencing. The online Telehealth program that we use is highly secure and confidential; it is easy to use and requires no prior set-up.
Psychological Counselling for Children/adolescents
When working with children and adolescents, our therapeutic process begins by having an Initial Parent Intake Session with only the parent(s). This provides an opportunity for our experienced therapists to obtain the relevant information that they need to design an effective treatment plan for the child. When providing one-on-one sessions to the child/adolescent, our therapists will use age appropriate therapeutic approaches (e.g. expressive and play therapy) that keep the child/adolescent feeling comfortable and engaged. Throughout the counselling process, our therapists will work closely with the parents as we believe that they are critical components in their child’s journey in ensuring positive therapeutic outcomes to be sustainable.
For those parents seeking additional support, we also offer an evidence-based and effective parenting program called 1-2-3 Magic Parenting. The program’s aim is to help parents raise happy and competent children by using a gentle but firm approach to manage the children’s challenging behaviours.
